Irv Spector was one of the first Paramount guys to do stuff at H-B, but I noticed that over the years, more of those guys went west. I wonder if Irv had any pull in getting guys like George Germanetti, Larry Silverman (who originally was from the West Coast, no?) and Chuck Harriton on staff at H-B. And eventually, once Paramount and Terrytoons closed, lots more of em went out there.
I doubt he had much pull there beyond just being able to recommend people he'd worked with that could do the job and were ready to come out west. I'm sure H&B was ramping up production. He'd already been back and forth a couple of times between the coasts, looking for work other than with H&B. He met with either Joe or Bill during those trips. He didn't take a job there right away. Then after that season he was off to Linus.
I wish I had all this back when I was directing those Electrasol spots! All I had to cull from was stills from the show itself. And I found a few Ed Benedict drawings/layouts from the show as well.

Ward, I feel fortunate to have it. I don't think it was a real conscious decision on his part to hang onto it. From the majority of his jobs, it's like he just scooped up what was leftover around his desk, shoved it in a folder, and stuck it in a random box. I would have thought similar items would be hanging around online but I never fo see any. (Who're the squirrels? That's what I wanna know.)
